🍂 Welcome to October with Lifestylio 🍎✨
By Laura, Founder of Lifestylio
There’s something undeniably magical about October. The air turns crisp, the light softens, and life seems to whisper, slow down and savor this. 🍁
Here at Lifestylio, October is a time to embrace the art of cozy living—to fill your home with warmth, your table with flavor, and your days with gratitude. It’s the season of flannel mornings, candlelit dinners, and reconnecting with what truly nourishes the soul.
Whether it’s swapping iced coffee for hot cider, setting a pot of soup to simmer on the stove, or layering your favorite textures and colors, this month invites us to live intentionally and beautifully.
🕯 The Soul of the Season: Simple Joys That Make October Special
October isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence. This is the month where nature reminds us how beautiful letting go can be.
Here are a few of my favorite ways to celebrate:
- Bring the outdoors in. A handful of golden leaves in a vase or a rustic bowl of apples can transform your kitchen counter.
- Savor slow cooking. Let the scent of roasted vegetables, baked apples, and cinnamon fill your home.
- Create intentional moments. Morning walks, journaling by the window, or a quiet evening with soft music and candlelight can turn ordinary days into memories.
- Layer your life. Just like your favorite fall wardrobe, add richness—whether it’s cozy throws, hearty meals, or heartfelt conversations.
🍎 Featured Recipe: Apple Cider Braised Pork Shoulder Roast
This week in my kitchen, I created something truly special — a slow-braised Apple Cider Pork Shoulder Roast that captures the very essence of fall in every bite.
Imagine this: tender, juicy pork infused with apple cider, caramelized onions, and a hint of thyme — the kind of meal that wraps around you like a cozy blanket. It’s sweet, savory, and deeply comforting — the perfect centerpiece for a crisp autumn evening.
I served it with buttery mashed potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts, and the house smelled like fall had come to stay. The braised pulled pork turned out to be the star of the show, complete with the best gravy and a glass of fresh apple cider to sip alongside it. 🍎
Now, here’s a little behind-the-scenes moment — I had everything perfectly planned to photograph a gorgeous platter of pulled pork, glistening and golden… until my kitchen sink decided to back up with a flood of icky water! 💦 So instead of the styled platter shots, I pivoted to some cozy stills that tell the story just as beautifully. (Don’t worry — the plumber came to the rescue, and all is well again!)
Thank you for your understanding and for following along through the real-life moments that make homemaking real.
